Screenwriter, Production Assistant & Creative Director

I’m Ankolika. I’m a screenwriter and a budding creative director from India, based in the UK. With my formal education in films and my work experience within the field over the years, I have developed a strong base in film production.
My inclination towards media started early on whilst I was still a teenager in school and taught myself how to use different film editing software. I was always inquisitive about the work that happens behind the scenes of any kind of audio-visual piece whether it’s a television series, a film, or a music video. What I enjoy the most about the entire process is conceptualisation and writing, post which I like to work in collaboration with experts in photography, and videography to bring my vision to life.
Apart from films and media, I also have interests in drawing, psychology, and music. I like learning about different cultures, people’s history, and their experiences. And being around nature brings me immense joy. My interests form the basis of my ideas, and my creative vision.
My Working Process
I like the idea of understanding and portraying moods and emotions through photographs, films, and drawings. I believe that every frame tells a story. As someone who has grown up around art, I like to use colours and also production design to convey the mood in my images and films. I’m usually inspired by themes of femininity and nature.

I keep in mind the aesthetics and tones that resonate with the piece I’m working on. If I’m working on someone else’s idea, or a brand, I like to have conversations with them in order to understand their vision and collaborate with them.
